How would you describe the core identity of yourself as a tattoo artist, and what message do you aim to convey through your branding?

The core identity of me as a tattoo artist is I am the definition of cannot be stopped, not even by death. Throughout my tattooing career I’ve seen and have been through a lot of intense situations, including attempts on my life and association of my character in order to sabotage my career. However, I never let anything or anyone stop me from tattooing. The message I send to artists and people in general would be Stop At Nothing. Death is going to get all of us, so why stop doing what you love just because of how others feel. You only get one life and you have to live in your Flesh Suit alone, so do what makes you happy regardless of who it disturbs.

What specific tattoo styles do you specialize in, and how do you think these styles resonate with your target audience?

The styles I love tattooing would be Black and Grey Realism, and NeoTraditional Color work. I feel my audience can relate to my two styles since Instagram and social media is where I get most of my clients from.

Can you walk us through the typical client experience from initial contact to the completion of their tattoo?

The tattoo experience with me for my clients can dive described and both philosophical and spiritual, while remaining professional at the same time. When my clients contact me I always great them with a warm welcome and ask a few questions concerning their tattoo. I like to ask deeper questions so I can convey the emotion of the tattoo. From that point I design a lined concept and send it to my clients for critique. Once the concept is approved we then schedule an appointment. On the appointment date I like to have my clients feel comfortable so I always make sure they’ve had a meal beforehand, make sure they have water and candy available to keep them hydrated and blood sugar up to prevent shock from setting in for long sessions. I’m very empathetic to my clients in their experience so I make sure to ask them frequently if they need breaks and/or are comfortable in their positions. Since I spend a lot of time with my clients, we often get into deep conversations of philosophy or personal issues. Since I am deeply spiritual I enjoy giving them my perception and understanding so I can help them better understand themselves or solve an issue they’re dealing with. Some have even said the pain of the tattoo helps them heal the pain of their challenges in life. This I think is the most impactful part of gettin tattooed, I believe it provides a sense of spiritual cleansing and provides mental healing. Once our session is complete I always make sure they’re haply with their tattoo, and I sent them home with a bandage to put on the next day and alway let them know they can contact me anytime if they have questions or concerns.

How do you build and maintain relationships with your clients to ensure repeat business and referrals?

I think the way I keep clients coming back is just by being my authentic self and taking their project seriously. That has been the feedback that I’ve received from a lot of my long term clients.

What marketing strategies have been most effective for you in promoting Lightcaptattoo?

Honestly, I’m still old school in marketing for my business. Meaning, I do everything myself and post a lot on social media using hashtags and posting on my stories. I have thought about using marketing companies, I just never really knew what to do honestly.

How do you leverage social media and your website to showcase your work and engage with potential clients?

I do post interactive content on my stories to see what my clients like seeing from me or post more comical entertaining things to keep things light and happy. I tend to get my interactions when I post personal things, or something funny. I feel this makes them feel more relatable to me.

How do you gather feedback from clients, and how does this feedback influence your tattooing process and branding strategy?

How I gather feedback from my clients is by asking them through social media and in person on how I can better improve my service to them, and what they to see in my art.

What are your long-term goals for Lightcaptattoo, and how do you envision your brand evolving in the next few years?

My ideal goal for LightcapTattoo is to open a brick and mortar shop with 3-5 artists plus myself and make it a collective. Then, down the road open up 2 more shops to expand, and have it to where the artists can guest spot at each location so that they can create a bigger web of clientele. I want my artists to have the opportunity to create a good lifestyle for themselves and their families.
