1. What inspired the founding of Blonde Studio, and how did you come up with the name?
I’ve been creative for a long time, throughout school and beyond. I always wanted to draw, write, and create, and I loved learning new ways of being creative. I studied art and photography in school, where I was able to explore different mediums, which eventually led me to become obsessed with digital design. My first experience in digital design was for a final major project where I had to create a fictional café and design the branding to go along with it. Looking back, it was very rough around the edges, but it paved the way for my love of digital design. I explored Adobe Illustrator further and experimented with various projects while also watching tutorials on YouTube to learn the basics of navigating Illustrator's functions. I took a little break from designing when I started my first job but got back into it when I realized I could pay for my own Adobe subscription and continue designing at home. It started as a hobby, but after seeing so many people creating amazing things online, it inspired me to leap into building my career. I got the name Blonde Studio from the fact that I’m a natural blonde, which was a distinguishing feature that made me, me!
2. Can you describe your design philosophy and what it means for your branding projects?
When I create my projects, I always want to ensure that the clients' vision is truly brought to life! I love to ask clients about their inspirations and encourage them to mood board their vibes in as much detail as possible so that I can successfully translate what's in their minds onto the screen. My philosophy is to make businesses confident in the services they provide by letting their branding do the talking for them; their professionalism will follow!
3. What specific services does Blonde Studio offer, and how do they cater to different client needs?
I currently offer a series of design packages based on the client's potential needs. I provide a large variety of elements, such as brand patterns, logo design, custom typography, custom graphics, and much more! I also have a business print package that can help kickstart businesses with vital stationery, including business cards, flyers, a yearly diary, and other pieces.

4. What sets Blonde Studio apart from other graphic design companies in South Wales and beyond?
I feel that I stand out from other designers in South Wales because I can create whatever the client desires. I have created a diverse range of branding in the past, from more delicate and elegant branding to more fun and adventurous designs with a playful vibe! I also stand out because I’m constantly on a learning journey to improve my skills and deliver a top-notch service to my clients.
5. How do you approach the branding process for new clients? What steps do you take?
As a stand-alone designer, I must ensure that my onboarding process is thorough to avoid missing any details. I offer a discovery questionnaire upon initial inquiry, which allows the potential client to go into detail about who they are both as a person and as a business. This step helps me understand what they currently achieve as a business and what they hope to accomplish with their new branding. I then take the information I have gathered from the client and create a mood board based on what I feel best represents what they want. The mood boards I create include imagery, typography choices, brand pattern examples, and other elements that help me understand the vision. The client also has a chance to ask me any further questions about my process and how I will communicate with them throughout the project.
6. In your experience, what are some key differences between graphic design styles in the UK and US?
I can’t say I’ve experienced a huge difference in graphic design between the UK and the US. I think social media has played a big role in that, as everyone follows everyone, so the styles don’t differ significantly from what I’ve personally seen. I follow a relatively even number of creators from both places, as do many others, so we all inspire each other.
7. How do cultural influences in South Wales shape your design aesthetics and client interactions?
I’ve found that cultural influences have yet to play a significant role in my design process, as I primarily look at what my peers are influenced by and research based on that. I will say that Wales as a whole is rich in history and culture, and it is definitely something that could inspire me in the future, as there’s so much on offer that I can utilize and embrace.
8. Can you share any recent projects that showcase your unique design approach or philosophy?
My recent project, The Empowerment Edit, showcases the playful side I want to evoke in my work. It balances the professional and fun aspects of branding. I also have a project coming soon called Twinkle & Twirl Dance Academy, which highlights the feminine and girly branding that I really enjoy creating.
9. What are some common challenges you face when working on branding projects, and how do you overcome them?
I think the biggest challenge I face is imposter syndrome. I follow many designers at different levels in their design journeys, and sometimes seeing phenomenal work around me can be both positive and negative. There’s the aspect of comparing my journey to someone else's when everyone learns and progresses at a different rate. Something I remind myself is, “You will always be better than someone else, but there will always be someone better than you.”
10. How do you ensure that your designs resonate with the target audience of your clients?
This ties back to my onboarding process, as I ask my clients who they believe their target audience is so that I can research accordingly. This helps me understand what is expected from both the clients and their target audiences.
11. What are your long-term goals for Blonde Studio, and how do you envision its growth in the coming years?
My long-term goals for Blonde Studio are to grow my client base and hopefully gain some returning customers! I enjoy creating passion projects to keep my creativity flowing, so that is something I will always do, time permitting, of course! I want to work with smaller businesses that are just starting out so that I can be a part of their journey to success!
12. How do you currently organize your digital assets and designs to maintain efficiency and consistency?
I currently organize my assets in iCloud, separated into folders for each project. I pay a monthly subscription for extra iCloud storage, as my computer doesn’t have enough storage to handle everything I create.

13. What tools or software do you find indispensable for your design process and asset management?
For my design work, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are absolutely essential. Illustrator is my go-to for creating logos, branding elements, and vector graphics, while Photoshop helps me refine details, create mockups, and bring designs to life with depth and texture. I also use InDesign when working on layouts for more structured designs like flyers or eBooks.
For asset management, iCloud is a lifesaver. It keeps all my design files organized and synced across my devices, so I can easily access them whether I’m on my laptop, iPad, or phone. Plus, it gives me peace of mind knowing everything is backed up and secure. However, I have also been enjoying BrandLife as a new asset manager. It’s definitely a new tool to explore and utilize for organizing my projects!
And of course, I have to mention Pinterest. It’s not just for gathering inspiration; it’s a huge part of my strategy for increasing visibility and driving traffic to my work. Optimizing pins with the right keywords has been a game-changer for reaching potential clients!
14. How do you keep up with design trends, and how do they influence your work at Blonde Studio?
Pinterest, Dribbble, and Behance definitely help me keep up with the ever-changing trends in design. It’s vital for a designer to stay updated on trends because, often, clients are also seeing these trends and want them for their design work. These trends significantly influence how I design, as they often determine whether my work will be positively received by others who follow me.
15. What advice would you give to aspiring graphic designers looking to establish their own branding agency?
I would tell aspiring designers not to put pressure on themselves. In my opinion, design is meant to be enjoyable, so embrace the process! Also, always keep learning—whether through YouTube, TikTok, or whatever platform works for you, don’t stop learning!
