Can you share your journey in digital marketing and what led you to become a Kartra Certified Partner and Expert?
It was a happy coincidence. I started a digital business in 2016, which led me to a client who needed to move her business online in 2018. I taught myself through the University of YouTube and Google University. Pre-COVID, I learned as I went, embracing a trial-by-fire approach and soaking up as much knowledge as I could. Kartra invited me to become a “Kartra Expert” in the middle of COVID in 2020, and that program was renamed Certified Partners in 2023.

Kartra includes many features a business needs in an all-in-one style, which keeps costs under control and prevents businesses from piecing together solutions with "zaps."
Can you provide an example of a client project where you implemented a Kartra funnel that significantly improved their business results?
Of course! Last year, I helped a health coach evergreen their introductory program. They had run that course live ten times and were ready to move it online. I built their course using the best elements from their ten past runs, including all of their lesson materials, checkpoints, automations, quizzes, and progress emails as the students progressed through the course. It’s the complete package and completely hands-off for the client. Now, when someone is ready to take this course, it’s all set up for the students to go at their own pace. They’ve sold this particular course 33 times.
What is your approach to building effective sales funnels, and how do you tailor them to meet the specific needs of different clients?
I start by planning and mapping everything visually before anything gets built. Then, I listen to the client to respect their beliefs and values, ensuring that the funnel matches their personality. What works for one person might not fit well for someone else.
What are some common mistakes you see businesses make when setting up their marketing funnels, and how can they avoid them?
One common mistake is trying to do everything at once. It’s better to start with one element and get it running really well before adding more components.
What trends do you see emerging in the digital marketing landscape, and how should businesses adapt to stay ahead?
I think everyone is noticing that AI is becoming a very real aspect very quickly. I believe that showing up authentically will be increasingly important as the world embraces AI. Video continues to reign supreme as well.
How do you measure the success of a marketing funnel, and what key performance indicators (KPIs) do you focus on?
I focus on monitoring and tracking conversion metrics, open rates (which can sometimes be misleading), email clicks, and ROI if clients are running ads. Success can be measured through sales, conversion rates, and percentages.
How do you ensure that your clients understand the strategies and tools you implement, particularly with complex platforms like Kartra?
I document and record everything. We test entire systems together to ensure they work properly. We always conduct a live launch call where we review the entire system, and I record personal videos to explain anything that needs clarification. I also include a detailed Google document during handoff that outlines everything done in their system, from who should be on what list to what each tag means.

Platforms are evolving rapidly, and they are all trying to keep up with each other. I foresee communities that don’t rely on social media, increased mobile friendliness, and a greater integration of AI in the future.
